JB Roberts - Singer/Songwriter
JB grew up in a small town in South Alabama "just a one red light town somewhere between no where and the beach." JB began playing guitar at the age of 5. He learned to play starting with Hank Williams tunes and gospel classics. With roots in country, JB traveled the South performing at festivals, fairgrounds, and anywhere people would listen. During a small stint at the University of Alabama, JB's music began to be influenced by legends such as the Allman Brothers, Warren Haynes, Black Crowes, and the classic Southern blues rock. JB's first CD contained many hits that have grown popular in South Alabama such as Home, Outlaws Like Me, and Drinking and Thinking. In 2006, JB released "Every Step" a compilation of 11 original southern rock hits. These solidified JB's position in the Southern music scene. "Friends of Mine" continues to be the most requested hit off the album.
JB joined up with Bryden Atwater (on drums), Paul Williamson (on bass), and LaRoy Bodiford (on saxophone) to form the JB Roberts Band. Playing to crowds on average of 500 at popular college locations, they can often be heard at the Skybar in Auburn, 4th and 23rd in Tuscaloosa, the Zydeco in Birmingham, AL, Peachtree Tavern in Atlanta and everywhere in between. Miss them when they are in town, and you have missed a good time!
